IP or domain blocklisting can happen to anyone but with our new blocklist monitoring tool, you can learn if you’ve been listed and take action to resolve it ASAP.

Email blocklists do a fantastic job at protecting users against spam, but occasionally, legitimate senders can get caught in the net too. While following deliverability best practices will reduce your chances of being listed, it’s recommended that you keep tabs on blocklist activity, just in case. This is because being listed can have a huge impact on your sender reputation.

The good news is that keeping track of blocklists doesn’t have to be tedious! With MailerCheck’s blocklist monitoring tool, there’s no need to run manual checks. You can simply add your domain or IP address and we’ll run regular checks to see if you've hit a blocklist.

Get ready to dive into the world of email blocklist monitoring, with a step-by-step guide on how to set it up with MailerCheck. It’s a piece of cake and you’ll be a pro in no time!

What is email blocklist monitoring?

Think of blocklists as the “naughty lists” of the email world, containing lists of known spammers. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) like Google or Yahoo, anti-spam organizations, and even businesses and individuals use these lists to protect themselves or their users from spam. And for legitimate senders, that’s where email blocklist monitoring comes in handy.

Email blocklist monitoring is the process of monitoring and managing your sender reputation by checking your domain or IP address against these blocklists. If your IP or domain gets blocklisted, it can result in your emails not being delivered and damage to your sender reputation. But don’t worry, if you do end up on one of these lists, MailerCheck will give you a heads up and provide you with a game plan to get delisted ASAP.

The solution may involve fixing some technical issues or ensuring that you’re following email sending best practices. In some cases, you’ll need to submit a request to the blocklist to get removed. Don’t fret if this happens; MailerCheck has you covered with direct links and helpful suggestions to get you off that blocklist in no time.

Why you need email blocklist monitoring

Well, I’m glad you asked because there are in fact several benefits to monitoring your blocklist activity, starting with:

1. The goal of all email senders—improved deliverability

By monitoring your IP address or domain for blocklist activity, you can identify any potential issues that could negatively impact your email deliverability and take steps to resolve them. This could be anything from technical issues with your email setup or unauthorized use of your account, to hitting a spam trap or receiving a high number of spam complaints.

2. Protect your hard-earned sender reputation

In many industries, reputation is everything—and that even extends to email! Your sender reputation is a fragile thing; it can take a long time to build up and with just a few mistakes, can all come crashing down. But, if you receive real-time notifications about being listed on a blocklist, you can take action ASAP to resolve any issues before they have a chance to impact your sender reputation.

3. Be proactive with problem solving

With email, there’s so much going on behind the scenes, it can be hard to keep on top of every aspect of your setup and sendings. An email blocklist monitoring service takes care of checking lists for you by automatically looking for your IP or domain. This makes it so much easier to fit this important aspect of managing your deliverability into your workload, and allows you to stay proactive when it comes to detecting and resolving any issues.

4. Save precious time and effort

An email blocklist monitoring service takes care of all the hard work for you so there’s no need for time-consuming manual checks. This means you get to focus your efforts elsewhere while still taking steps to track blocklist activity.

5. You won’t be left in the dark

Ehhh so you’ve been blocklisted, now what? Each blocklist has its own policies and requirements, and it can be hard to find the information about what exactly you need to do to get delisted. A blocklist monitoring service like MailerCheck will provide tips, suggestions, instructions and even links to help you get delisted as soon as possible. What’s more, if you have any trouble, you can always contact our friendly customer support team for advice.
